It had to happen, a Charvel Blue Smear, since we saw one at Thomann when we were there last year (I still have the photo on my phone). That was a DS-1 and actually we also thought we bought a DS-1 ... but that turned out not to be the case. Tonika offered a Desolation DS-1 as a used guitar in the webshop and via the marketplace. The asking price was lower via marketplace and so we played it through that side. The price was very competitive, even though it was a used one, but there were no other bidders and so we were able to buy the guitar. Two days later it was delivered neatly packaged, but after unpacking the description turned out not to be correct with the guitar: active elements but no Seymour Duncans and no colored headstock. This was not a DS1 but a DS2! On closer inspection, the photos turned out to be correct, but the text of the ad was not. It took a whole Easter weekend to wait for a response from Tonika, but they immediately apologized (mistake, text was only found later and by someone else) and offered to take back the guitar. After internal deliberation and some negotiation, we kept the DS2 anyway and received a few sets of strings as a compensation. Well arranged so, kudos to Tonika.
The color of this guitar is really great: speaking and alive.
