Hondo Deluxe Series 779

We're still on holiday in Terceira when we arrange to pick up this guitar, which softened the pain of the end of the holiday. So after coming home, we went out to get this guitar. It took a while to find the house, which turned out to be a holiday home in the Veluwe, but we managed to find it after taking a small road with seven very annoying speed bumps. This eighties Hondo looked to be in very nice shape: hardly any dings on the neck, the paint on the body is not damaged at all and not faded to yellow either. The neck is rather wide and the guitar is not too heavy. Also, if you happen to have misplaced your baseball bat and you need something to defend yourself with, this'll do the trick quite well.

After a short amplified test we plan, like we usually do, to pay for the guitar and be on our way (to pick up the cat). However, that does not seem to work here. First we keep talking about guitars for a good twenty minutes, and then, halfway to the door, again about the surrounding park and the deer. It feels rude to at some point just open the door and go, but there's no other way to end the conversation. The Hondo was worth it though, because it's a rare and well preserved guitar.

The pickup had rather low output so we exchanged it for a DiMarzio D-Activator and that makes it a lot more metal.
